Q.1:- Which epoch making discoveries were made in the field of
mathematics in ancient India.

Ans:- In ancient India the Indians made various epoch making discoveries, notably that, of the zero sign, of the decimal place-value system, of the use of minus sign and the use the alphabet to denote unknown.

Q.2 :- Who was the first great ornithologist of India and what were his discoveries?

Ans:- The Mughal emperor Jahangir was the first great ornithologist of India. He made many important discoveries. His detailed descriptions of birds such as the florican, dipper, hawk-cuckoo, and animals such as the polecat and monkey are notable. He made a correct estimate of the gestation period of elephants and gave details of the paring of sarus cranes. Jahangir wrote that, the gestation period of elephants were 18 to 19 months. For the first time in the history of orinthology, he noted how sarus cranes mate, brood over the eggs in turn, and how chicks are hatched and taken care of. He also observed one human quality in this bird the parents love not only their eggs and chicks but also each other. These were his discoveries.
